Wondrous Creatures is a worker placement and tableau-building game for 1–4 players in which you build a creature reserve, collecting and combining over 100 unique creature cards to create the most harmonious — and strategically powerful — collection. Published by Bad Comet, the studio behind Gaia Project and Messina 1347, it brings a fresh hex-puzzle twist to the worker placement genre.

The central mechanism is unlike most worker placement games. Rather than simply blocking spaces, your deployed workers interact with surrounding hex icons to gather resources, draw cards, and trigger special effects — creating a spatial puzzle layer on top of the familiar placement decisions. As the game progresses, new powerful effects are added to the board, opening up increasingly creative combo opportunities.

Each of the nine captains has their own meeple and unique ability tree, which you unlock and strengthen as the game develops. Combined with 100+ creature cards — each with its own distinctive ability — no two games play out the same way. Achievements add a race element, rewarding players who complete objectives faster than their rivals.
