Snakes of Wrath

Snakes of Wrath is a two-player abstract tile-laying game in which you build, grow, injure, and steal snakes across a shared board. Each turn you play from a hand of seven randomly selected tiles, choosing whether to extend your own snakes, sabotage your opponent’s, or attempt a chain-reaction steal that can flip the game in an instant. First to 13 points wins.

The two-sided tiles are the key mechanic — every tile can be played either way, and a well-timed steal can reverse an entire sequence of your opponent’s work. Closing all ends of a snake scores it, so there’s constant tension between building safely and leaving yourself open to attack. The result is a game that plays in 15–20 minutes but rewards careful planning and reading your opponent.

As the game progresses, the tangled ouroboros of tiles grows into something genuinely striking on the table — Snakes of Wrath is as good to look at as it is to play.
