River of Gold

River of Gold is a trading strategy board game for 2–4 players set in Rokugan, where river merchants allied with legendary samurai clans compete for wealth, glory and wisdom. From the Spine of the World Mountains to the fishing villages of Earthquake Fish Bay, the river offers opportunities to build a fortune and gain the attention of the nobility.

Invest in ports, markets and shrines along the riverbanks, build influence with manor houses, or concentrate on sailing and fulfilling delivery contracts. Visiting the nobility and drawing on divine favour offer further ways to advance your plans. The choice is how to balance developing the river with making the most of the opportunities already there.

Francesca Baerald's embossed metallic gold board gives the setting a striking centrepiece. Fast turns and minimal downtime keep this mid-weight Eurogame moving, while intuitive rules make it approachable without removing the competing routes to success. This edition also includes the Clan Patron Expansion, with eight Clan Patron cards.
