Qawale

Qawale is a beautifully simple two-player abstract strategy game inspired by the piles of pebbles found along winding paths. Deceptively quick to learn, it rewards spatial thinking and forward planning in a compact, elegant package.

Each player has 8 pebbles in their colour, with a set of neutral pebbles starting in the four corners. On your turn, place a pebble on top of any stack, then move that stack — leaving one pebble behind on each square you cross. The first player to line up four of their own pebbles in a row (viewed from above) wins. The stacking and trail mechanic makes every move feel fresh and unpredictable.
