Mooki Island

Mooki Island is a charming two-player card game for ages 4 and up, built around collecting adorable creatures called Mookies from five different families. Winner of the As d'Or Best Kids Game 2026 and the Kinderspiel des Jahres 2026, it is simple enough for very young players to grasp in minutes, yet engaging enough to keep parents coming back for another round — one of those rare games that genuinely bridges the gap between grown-ups and little ones.

The island is home to five Mooki families — Sun, Moon, Fossil, Seashell, and Leaf — each ruled by a rare Legendary Mooki. Players take turns drawing cards and building their collections, trying to befriend more Mookies from each family than their opponent to claim the matching Trophy. The twist? A mischievous spider-like Mooki lurks in the deck, ready to sneak onto your pile and cause chaos at the worst possible moment.

The box also includes a large illustrated poster where children can name every Mookie they meet — a lovely little extra that keeps the fun going long after the game is packed away.

How to play:

1. Set up — shuffle the deck and split it into two face-down piles between the players.
2. Take turns — on your turn, draw the top card from either pile, look at both sides, choose one side, and place it on your collection pile.
3. Collect Mookies — add each Mooki card face-up to your pile, with only the top card visible.
4. Play the Spider — if you draw a Spider card, place it on top of your opponent's collection pile instead.
5. Score Trophies — when the deck runs out, compare each family. The player with more Mookies from a family wins that Trophy.
6. Win — count the Stars on your Trophies. Most Stars wins!
