Siege is the expansion to Dragons of Etchinstone, the solo pocket card game from Joe Klipfel and Chip Theory Games. As the last greater dragon falls, a seismic wave of Ether unfolds from The Tear, infusing the Tower's very stone with pulsating elemental magic. Like a beacon, it calls out to humans, monsters, and far worse — and darkness descends on Vale.
In Siege, you play as an Ether Mage defending the Tower against a relentless assault. An expanded hand lets you build two Action Sets per turn, while new Structure Cards unlock powerful abilities to deploy in the heat of battle. The result is a significantly harder, more complex challenge that builds on everything the base game established — gut-wrenching hand management pushed to its absolute limit.
Siege also introduces the Return to Etchinstone variant, which flips the experience entirely: you take on the role of the monsters, pursuing victory at all costs as you attempt to reclaim your lost home through the Tower's Ether rift. Two games in one pocket-sized box.
What's good?
- Meaningfully expands the base game without bloating it — stays true to the minimalist design
- Two Action Sets per turn adds a new layer of strategic depth and planning
- Structure Cards open up new tactical options not available in the base game
- Return to Etchinstone variant offers a completely different play experience
- Tiny footprint, big challenge — a city-sized achievement in a pocket-sized game
Who is it for?
- ✔ Owners of Dragons of Etchinstone who want a harder, deeper challenge
- ✔ Solo gamers who enjoy complex hand management puzzles
- ✔ Players who've mastered the base game and want more
- ✖ Those who haven't played the base game — Siege requires it

fantastic packaging and arrived very quicky
Super speedy delivery
A great game, with short rounds, suitable for our 6 year old and even our 3 yeah old (with a bit of help). The unlock progression really helps bring in new rules and challenges, without overwhelming everyone from the very first game.
It’s not that easy finding a game that my dyslexic ADHD 10yr old son enjoys but this one ticks all his boxes! We love it!!
Fantastic price, swift delivery & EXTREMELY well packaged, which in the age of Amazon has become a forgotten art. Game arrived without a single dent or ding. Perfection & thank you.
Excellent service and packaging. Thank you, would recommend.
Great service as always!
Had a great experience with Life of Games. I got in touch with a bit of a request around my order and they were super quick to reply and really helpful.
They went out of their way to sort things for me, no hassle at all, and everything was handled quickly and smoothly. Just really nice, friendly service from start to finish.
Always good to find a shop that actually cares about its customers. Would definitely order from them again 👍
